The 2026 Cwench Nations Cup is bringing several exciting updates that make this year’s event more competitive, more flexible, and an even better experience for every team. From more guaranteed hockey to greater freedom in team apparel, here’s what’s new for 2026.

Four-Game Guarantee

Every team will play a minimum of four scheduled games throughout the tournament, giving players more opportunities to compete and make the most of their Nations Cup experience.

A New Sunday Showcase Format

Sunday will feature the tournament’s top performers, with the top three finishers from both Team Canada and Team USA in each division earning showcase matchups.

Final Sunday pairings will be determined by each team’s round-robin performance, creating meaningful games with high-level competition to close out the weekend.

More Flexibility with Team Uniforms

Teams now have more control over their event apparel.

Jerseys are no longer included or required as part of your tournament registration. Teams may choose to:

• Order custom uniforms through their preferred supplier.
• Support a local apparel company.
• Design a unique look that represents their team.

To maintain the international theme of the event, uniforms should follow these color guidelines:

• Team USA: Primarily White, Cream, or other Light-colored uniforms
• Team Canada: Primarily Red or Black uniforms

Beyond those color guidelines, teams are encouraged to get creative with their designs and showcase their own identity.

Teams that choose not to purchase event-specific uniforms should plan to bring both their home and away jerseys to ensure there are no color conflicts during the tournament.

Lower Tournament Entry Fee

We’ve also reduced the tournament entry cost for 2026, making it more affordable for teams to participate while continuing to deliver the premium Nations Cup experience.
