2026 CCM Summer Invite Recap

CCM Summer Invite Brings Together the Best of Summer Hockey

August 3, 2026

Over the course of one action-packed weekend, the CCM Summer Invite transformed rinks across Massachusetts and Rhode Island into the home of one of the premier youth hockey tournaments of the summer. From opening puck drop to championship celebrations, players, coaches, and families experienced a weekend built around high-level competition, sportsmanship, and a shared passion for the game.

The event welcomed elite AAA and AA hockey teams from across North America, creating an atmosphere where every game mattered and every matchup offered a new challenge. Just as importantly, the weekend brought together a hockey community that extended well beyond the ice. Families filled the stands, teammates created lasting memories, and players represented their organizations with pride throughout one of New England’s signature youth hockey events.

Weekend by the Numbers

The scale of the CCM Summer Invite speaks for itself.

Across 12 venues throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island, 144 teams competed in 18 divisions, combining for an incredible 328 games over the course of the weekend. Coordinating that many games across multiple facilities requires the dedication of rink staff, officials, volunteers, coaches, and families who all help create an outstanding tournament experience.

The tournament’s reach stretched well beyond New England. Teams traveled from 18 different states/provinces including as far as Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Ontario, Quebec, and Texas, bringing together programs from across the United States and Canada for a truly regional and international event.

That diversity of competition is what continues to make the CCM Summer Invite a destination event. Every division featured new opponents, different playing styles, and opportunities for players to challenge themselves against talented teams from outside their local hockey communities.

Championship Weekend

Every team arrived with the same goal: earn the opportunity to compete for a championship.

Throughout the weekend, players battled through round-robin play and playoff matchups, showcasing determination, teamwork, and resilience. While championship banners and titles ultimately belong to one team in each division, every player who stepped onto the ice contributed to an outstanding weekend of hockey.

Congratulations to all of this year’s champions for their tremendous accomplishments, and thank you to every team that helped make this event such a success through their effort, competitiveness, and sportsmanship.

Celebrating the Howies Hockey MVPs

Winning games is only one part of what makes a successful tournament.

Throughout the CCM Summer Invite championship round, the Howies Hockey MVP program recognized players who made an impact for their teams through leadership, effort, sportsmanship, and performance. Every champion had the opportunity to celebrate a player who embodied those qualities, highlighting the individuals who helped make the tournament special both on and off the ice.

Congratulations to all of this year’s Howies Hockey MVP selections, see the full list of MVPs in the CCM Summer Invite History.

This September, 2027 Spring & Summer Development Programs will be announced, providing players with new opportunities to continue developing their game through elite instruction and high-level training experiences.

The 2026-27 Fall/Winter Tournament Season also begins with the brand-new Savannah Showdown Tier I in Savannah, Georgia, kicking off another exciting season of premier youth hockey tournaments across North America.

Registration is already filling quickly for several upcoming events, including the CCM World Invite, CCM Motown, CWENCH Nations Cup, and CWENCH MLK Invite, with space becoming increasingly limited.

Thank you to every player, coach, family member, official, volunteer, and rink partner who helped make this year’s CCM Summer Invite possible. Your passion for the game continues to make this event one of the premier AAA hockey and AA hockey tournaments in New England, and we look forward to seeing everyone back on the ice again soon.
