Champs From The Blue Chip
Eleven Teams Crush It At The First Ever CCM Blue Chip Invite.
One of 200×85’s newest events to the roster for 2021, the Blue Chip Invite welcomed more than 100 teams to the New England area for the spring tournament. From the 2013-birth year to the 16-and-under age level, these teams capped off an impressive weekend with a huge win on championship Sunday.
In the 16U Division, the Long Island Mavericks dropped the first game of the tournament to the Worcester Junior Rattlers on Friday. However, Long Island would avenge that loss just 48 hours later with a 4-2 win in the championship game.

The Long Island Mavericks also took the 15U Division, scoring four-or-more goals in five straight games. One of those performances came in the championship; a 5-1 victory over Nordiques Hockey Club.

Two CCM Selects teams faced off in the 16-team 2007 Elite Division championship. CCM Selects West defeated CCM Selects Great Lakes 4-2 in the finale, finishing the weekend with a 5-1-0 record.

The 2008 Elite Division saw a dominant performance from CCM Selects Central. The squad scored 44 goals en route to a perfect 6-0-0 record and division championship over CCM Selects East.

RAD Elite won the 2008 AAA Division after defeating Hockey Development 360 4-1 on Sunday. The team gave up just five goals in five games and finished the tournament 5-0-0, taking the championship in the five-team division.Â

In the 2009 Elite Division, Exposure Leprechauns reigned supreme over the 16-team division. A 3-1 victory over Boston Benders clinched the championship on Sunday afternoon to close out a 6-0-0 weekend.

After losing the first game of the weekend, RAD Elite rallied to win four straight games in convincing fashion to take the 2009 AAA Division. A 7-1 decision over KHS Ice Dogs gave RAD Elite some revenge for its previous loss as well as the tournament hardware.

The 2010 Elite Division pitted two undefeated teams against each other in Boston Hockey Club and Dream Big Stars. A 3-1 win by Boston would keep the championship in the New England area.Â

A battle of two unbeatens came down to just one goal in the 2011 Elite Division. The Regulators outlasted the Junior Bruins Black by way of a 6-5 final to win the championship on Sunday afternoon.

CCM Selects Black scored 37 goals in six 2012 Elite Division games. The offensive attack continued through the championship game on Sunday, as Selects topped Blizzard Hockey Club 6-1 in the finale.

The 2013 Elite Division saw plenty of high-scoring games, with six of the eight teams averaging five-or-more goals per outing. The championship game was no different, as Elite Stars Hockey Club won 5-3 over Regulators to finish 6-0-0 on the weekend.

Whether it was a 21-team age group split into two divisions, or a four-team round robin, the 2021 CCM Blue Chip Invite proved to be a competitive, top-notch event in its first year with 200×85. From high-scoring shootouts, to intense one-goal games, the Blue Chip had plenty of action and intensity throughout every age group.Â
