2022-23 CCM Boston Invite Results
2012 Division
It was fitting that the 2012 division had twelve teams, however, only one would be left standing. From Nashville to New Hampshire every team battled it out in the round-robin leaving four to advance. In the semi-final round, both matches came down to one goal resulting in a Belle Tire versus Jersey Hitmen final. The tight play continued as the championship match also came down to one goal being the difference. Braxton Frueh, Howie’s Hockey 2012 Division MVP, and Belle Tire edged out the Hitmen with a 3-2 victory to complete an undisputed 6-0 weekend and secure their championship banner.
2011 Jetspeed Division
Possibly one of the most tightly contested divisions was the 2011 Jetspeed. Not a single team made it out of the round-robin undefeated in regulation. The Valley Junior Warriors were the only team to have no losses, as they had tied North Park in the round-robin. The Warriors were set for a rematch in the finals versus St. Louis Sting. When the Warriors and the Sting previously met, the Warriors came out on top 4-3. However, the Sting flipped the script in the finals defeating the Warriors 4-3 in return. The Sting’s Ben Spotanski was selected as the Howie’s Hockey MVP for the 2011 Jetspeed Division.
2011 SuperTacks Division
MassConn United’s tightest match of the round-robin was a 3-2 victory over the PAL Jr. Islanders. They were set for a rematch and made a statement with a 5-1 victory which booked their ticket to the championship game. Over on Rink 4 the Rocester Jr. The Americans and Woodbridge Wolfpack were also in a rematch. Their first meeting ended in a 4-4 tie, but the semi-final would see that a winner would advance. By the final score of 4-2, the Wolfpack advanced to the finals to face MassConn United. Both teams entered undefeated in regulation and proved to be an even match. When the dust settled, the Woodbridge Wolfpack was victorious by a final score of 2-1. The Howie’s Hockey 2011 SuperTacks Division MVP was awarded to the Wolfpack’s Jack Hughes.
2010 Jetspeed Division
The Florida Warrior’s round-robin record was nearly perfect. With a tie versus the San Diego Gulls, they faced another California-based opponent in the round-robin, the Anaheim Jr. Ducks. The Ducks battled hard but fell by a final score of 5-4. Their opponent for the championship match would be a team that also was undefeated in regulation, the Providence Hockey Club. Providence had a habit of winning tight matches all weekend, with their first five games being decided by two goals or less. The Warriors made sure to get the jump on Providence early and ended the game with a 4-1 victory. The Warriors were not only awarded the championship banner but the Warrior’s Easton Larocco was also awarded the Howie’s Hockey 2010 Jetspeed Division MVP.
2010 SuperTacks Division
The Southern Tier Admirals stumbled out the gate losing 3-2 to the Valley Jr. Warriors Elite but three wins later found themselves an opportunity to avenge the loss in the semi-finals. The Admirals got their vengeance as they defeated the Jr. Warriors Elite, advancing to the finals where they would face the Tampa Bulls. These two teams previously met in pool play where the Admirals came out ahead 3-2. The Bulls got their turn to avenge their previous defeat and avenge what they did. Tampa came out ahead 5-2 claiming their banner while Durham Shivel claimed the Howie’s Hockey 2010 SuperTacks Division MVP.

2009 Jetspeed Division
Both the Boston Junior Eagles and Boston Jr. Penguins hit the ground running with matching 6-0 shutout victories in pool play and neither showed signs of slowing down. These teams were set on a collision course for the finals. Entering the championship match each with perfect records, one would have to fall and the other would take home the banner. There was little room for error in this tight matchup, in the end, the Jr. Penguins sealed a 2-0 shutout championship victory to become the undisputed champions. Liam Guilderson of the Jr. Penguins claimed the Howie’s Hockey 2009 Jetspeed Division MVP.
2009 SuperTacks Division
The 2009 SuperTacks division hosted teams from all over the states. Colorado, Massachusetts, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, and Tennessee were all represented. Omaha Mastery and North Jersey Avalanche were set to meet in the final. Both teams experienced very different paths there. North Jersey exited the round-robin after tying the Rocky Mountain RoughRiders and suffering a shutout defeat from the Islanders Hockey Club Elite only to return the favor in the semi-finals. Omaha was a perfect 5-0 including two shutouts throughout the round-robin and semi-finals. Omaha seemed like an unstoppable force, yet the Avalanche proved otherwise. North Jersey knocked off Omaha in the final 3-1 and the Avalanche’s Chayce Turnbull was awarded the Howie’s Hockey 2009 SuperTacks Division MVP.
2008 Division
Both the North Jersey Avalanche and the CT Jr. Whalers entered the 2008 Division championship undefeated in regulation. The Whalers made a statement on Saturday starting with two shutout victories only to hit a slight stumble tying the Casco Bay Spartans on day two of the event. With North Jersey disposing of Casco Bay in the semi-finals, the only question was if anyone could stop them. After an incredibly tight match, the Whalers proved the Avalanche could be stopped. The 2-1 victory crowned the Whalers as the champions and Ethan Rotter was awarded the Howie’s Hockey 2008 Division MVP.
