2023 CCM Blue Chip Invite Results

2016 Division

Wrapping up the round-robin, both the Boston Hockey Club and the Elite Stars HC were set to rematch their games from earlier in the day. Boston lost 4-2 in the morning to Atlantic Coast Elite Purple, but when it counted they pulled through to advance to the championship. The Elite Stars HC had a tight game that morning versus the Tropics Hockey Club, and in the semi-final, they left no doubt scoring ten goals. Having lost to Elite Hockey Club in their opening game of the weekend, Boston Hockey Club was looking to avenge another loss however they were unsuccessful. The Elite Stars HC prevailed 5-3 and Cameron Roy was awarded the Howie’s Hockey MVP for the 2016 Division.

2015 Division

After some tight round-robin play, the Blizzard Hockey Club made quick work of their quarterfinal and semifinal to advance to the championship with an unblemished record. Their opposition, Boston Hockey Club, was also undefeated, accumulating three shutouts en route to the final. The Blizzard were able to outscore all of Boston’s previous competition but that would not prove to be enough. The Boston Hockey Club was victorious by a final score of 9-3 and Dylan Bassler was awarded the Howie’s Hockey MVP for the 2015 Division.

2014 Division

The 128 Raiders were torching goalies all weekend. Through the round-robin and playoffs, they averaged 7.4 goals per game. Their final opponent was also undefeated. Sunday afternoon the Blizzard Hockey Club took to the ice versus the 128 Raiders and the big question was if the Raiders offense could be held at bay. In an incredibly tight match, the Blizzard was able to take down the Raiders by a final score of 4-3. The banner went to the Blizzard and the Howie’s Hockey MVP for the 2014 Division went to Ryan Raby.

2013 Jetspeed Division

Four wins, zero losses, and one tie. That was the matching records for the Long Island Gladiators and the Rhode Island Clams coming into the championship match. Their tie was against each other. For the championship, we knew we would not have a 1-1 draw again but it was anyone’s guess on who would have the edge. The final buzzer rang at Thayer Sports Center and the board read 5-3, the Long Island Gladiators were victorious. The Gladiators completed an undefeated weekend and Henry Whalen was awarded the Howie’s Hockey MVP for the 2013 Jetspeed Division.

2013 Supertacks Division

After a 1-1-1 round-robin, the Syracuse Ice Yetis were the underdog. With a 4-1 victory in the quarterfinals and a 6-4 semifinal win, the Yetis were shocking some teams. QHD was undefeated and was ready to claim the banner, the Yetis had other plans. In their most decisive victory, the Yetis won 7-2 and Declan Doheny was awarded the Howie’s Hockey MVP for the 2013 Supertacks Division.

2012 Jetspeed Division

After their second shutout victory of the weekend, the Coast 2 Coast PD was slated to rematch the Beantown Total Performance in the Championship. Coast 2 Coast won their first match 9-3 but when it was time to play for all the marbles, Beantown was not going to let it be as easy. In the end, the conclusion remained the same but the score was tighter. Coast 2 Coast PD claimed their championship banner with a 4-1 victory and Rhett Davis was awarded the Howie’s Hockey MVP for the 2012 Jetspeed Division.

2012 Supertacks Division

With only one loss to the Boston Hockey Club, My Hockey Team won their quarterfinal match only to have a rematch with Boston. My Hockey Team avenged their previous loss over Boston Hockey Club with a 6-3 victory to punch their ticket to the final. Their opposition was the East Coast Kings, a team that stumbled out the gate and squeaked into the playoffs with a 1-2-0 record. Though they squeaked in, they were on a mission winning 6-0 and 7-1 to earn their spot in the championship. The hot team remained hot and the East Coast Kings defeated My Hockey Team 7-2 in the championship. Jayden Widen of the Kings was awarded the Howie’s Hockey MVP for the 2012 Supertacks Division.

2011 Jetspeed Division

Ending their round-robin Saturday morning with a loss to the Tropics, Hockey Development 360 was set for a rematch in the semifinal that afternoon. Same teams, and the same rink, but different results. Hockey Development 360 would return to Bridgewater West the next morning for the championship versus the Empire Snipers. The Snipers were holding to their name leading the division in scoring, averaging 6.5 goals per game. The goals dried up in the finals and Hockey Development 360 edged out the Snipers 3-2 to secure their championship victory. Yuhan Tang was awarded the Howie’s Hockey MVP for the 2011 Jetspeed Division.

2011 Supertacks Division

After losing their opening game, the East Coast Kings swept through the remainder of their schedule and were set to face NewEdge Hockey Development. En route to the final, NewEdge defeated QHD, the only team to beat the East Coast Kings, 2-1 in a quarterfinal match. Coming off a semifinal victory where they tallied nine goals, the Kings kept pouring on the offense in the championship. The final score was 7-2, the East Coast Kings became champions. Gavin Thomas of the Kings was awarded the Howie’s Hockey MVP for the 2012 Supertacks Division.

2010 Division

With four victories and two shutouts, the Boston Junior Terriers were looking unstoppable. The semifinal versus the Connecticut Jr Rangers was not as smooth sailing. In an incredibly tight match, the Terriers came out on top 2-1 and remained undefeated with one opponent standing in the way of the championship banner. That opponent, Atlantic Coast Elite Black, was also undefeated. The teams hit the ice in Canton and the Terriers could not crack Atlantic Coast. In the end, Atlantic Coast shut out the Terriers 4-0 and claimed their championship title. Carter Felt was awarded the Howie’s Hockey MVP for the 2010 Division.

2009 Jetspeed Division

Both Hockey Development 360 and Steen Sports Selects lost their opening game and were perfect since. Sunday at noon the two were set to duel for the championship of the 2009 Jetspeed Division. When the stakes were the highest, the winning streak came to a close for the Steen Sports Selects. By a final of 5-3, Hockey Development 360 was victorious and Nicholas Franco was awarded the Howie’s Hockey MVP for the 2009 Jetspeed Division.

2009 Supertacks Division

The Providence Hockey Club was rolling with a perfect record entering the championship match on Sunday afternoon. On the opposing bench would be the East Coast Kings, looking to earn their championship crown. The Kings were on a bit of a streak of their own, with back-to-back shutouts, they had not been scored on since the round-robin. That streak would stand as the Kings clinched their championship banner with a 4-0 victory. Alex Wang was awarded the Howie’s Hockey MVP for the 2009 Supertacks Division.

15U Division

MA Revolution and Hockey Development 360 Elite took to the ice for the championship. After three periods, the score remained even, meaning overtime would decide the championship. The extra hockey resulted in a 2-1 victory for the MA Revolution. The championship victory secured the banner and completed an undefeated weekend for the Revolution. Raphael Aberbach was awarded the Howie’s Hockey MVP for the 15U Division.

16U Division

Underperforming expectations in the round robin, Expo Hockey (1-0-2) and Connecticut Jr Rangers (1-2-0) both squeaked into the quarterfinals. Both teams turned it around when it mattered and were now set to square off in the championship. In the end, Expo Hockey prevailed 6-1 to earn their championship banner. Ian Kuisis was awarded the Howie’s Hockey MVP for the 16U Division.
