2026 Irish May Day Recap

South Bend Showcases Spring Hockey at Its Best

June 1, 2026

The Irish May Day closed out another memorable weekend of spring hockey as teams from across North America converged on the campus of the University of Notre Dame for three days of competition inside the beautiful Compton Family Ice Arena.

With five divisions, 26 teams, and 59 games played, the event delivered everything that has made the Irish May Day a staple on the spring hockey calendar—high-level competition, memorable championship runs, and a first-class experience both on and off the ice.

From the opening puck drop, teams battled through intense round-robin play and playoff matchups, all with one goal in mind: bringing home an Irish May Day championship. Every division featured its own storylines, from tightly contested games and dramatic finishes to dominant performances that showcased the talent and depth of the participating teams.

Few venues in youth hockey provide the atmosphere and tradition found at Notre Dame’s Compton Family Ice Arena. Throughout the weekend, players had the opportunity to compete in one of college hockey’s premier facilities while experiencing the unique setting and history that make South Bend such a special destination. 200×85 is lucky enough to host not just the Irish May Day, but also the CCM Shootouts at Compton Family Ice Arena.

As the spring tournament season begins to wind down, the Irish May Day once again proved why it remains one of the most anticipated stops on the 200×85 calendar. The combination of elite competition, outstanding facilities, and a championship atmosphere created another unforgettable weekend for players, coaches, and families alike.

What’s Next

As the Irish May Day wraps up, the 200×85 spring tournament season is quickly approaching its final chapter. Attention now turns to the CCM Summer Invite, the final tournament event of the offseason and summer schedule. Limited space remains available in select divisions, giving teams one last opportunity to compete before the start of the 2026-27 hockey season.

Looking ahead, registration is officially open for the 2026-27 tournament season, featuring many of the most popular events across the 200×85 tournament lineup. Teams looking to secure their spots are encouraged to register early as schedules begin to take shape for another year of elite competition.

The spring season may be nearing its conclusion, but the hockey calendar is far from slowing down.
