200×85 Summer Body Contact + Battle Camp

Overview

These clinics are one-of-a-kind with “Checking Dummies” that provide players with an opportunity for professional instruction on the skills of awareness, angling, body position and body contact. Each session focuses on helping players develop their confidence in physical situations and reduce the likelihood of injury. With rules consistently evolving how body contact is allowed in the sport, this program is focused on allowing players to get more comfortable and confident in physical situations.

Players will receive at least four hours of on-ice instruction over a two-day period. Every player will understand the importance of checking skills and improve them in station based sessions maximizing repetitions by emphasizing proper technique and hitting with a purpose. Clinics will be held at Seven Bridges Ice Arena.

"This was a great weekend - such an important area to focus on with so much worthwhile training! Our daughter was one of the few girls out there and she was rattling off everything she learned on each car ride home. As the only girl on her team last year, playing D, this will carry her well into her next season. Thank you so much!"

"Kids enjoyed the camp and our 2010 had his best tryout yet immediately following the camp, in part due to confident checking… he plays at low AA level but stood out among kids he’s been playing with in tryout and is carrying a lot of confidence going into spring. Younger two were telling stories at dinner table of applying contact skills in skates they had this week so all found the clinics valuable! Looking forward to Notre Dame! "

"Thanks so much for day1! Our boys left Florida as pee-wees and started as Bantams in Louisville. Taking this clinic would have been great before bantam level. Ethan got a concussion his second to last game of the season. The other player got a major and ejected but... it could have been avoided with better positioning. Our boys found this clinic very helpful and are excited for day two!"
