Overview

There’s always a good reason to go to Prague (voted the most beautiful city in the world) but a Hockey Tournament makes it sooooo much better. In the summer of 2024 we will be taking the 2011's to a fairytale destination where millions of tourists come every year. North American teams will be housed at the Hilton Prague Hotel and will be within a 15 minute walk of its Gothic architecture, Old Town Square, and the Astronomical Clock. All tournament games will be played at the twin pad Skoda Ice Arena.

Meet The Coach

Blake Sorensen joins CCM Prague Summer Games as Head Coach of our 2011 age group.

As a standout player for St. Norbert College (NCAA DIII), Sorensen brings a wealth of playing and coaching experience to 200x85.

Prior to his collegiate career, Sorensen played one season of Midget AAA for the York Simcoe Express (Ontario) and two seasons of Tier II junior hockey for the Kitchener Dutchmen (Kitchener, Ontario).

After graduating in 1999 from St. Norbert he spent six seasons playing professionally in Europe before returning back to North America and joining the coaching ranks.

Since retiring in 2005, Sorensen has served as the director of hockey operations and varsity boys head coach at the Latin School of Chicago, Notre Dame College Prep and an assistant coach for the Chicago Mission, Aurora University (NCAA DIII) and assistant coach for the University of Illinois and Robert Morris University ACHA Division I Club teams. In addition, he runs Power-Skating & Skills Development as an Independent Contractor, was Head Coach of the 200x85 Chicago Brick 2011 team. Sorensen has coached within various levels of Chicago youth hockey programs as well as the Western Selects Hockey program 2007 age group based in Los Angeles, CA.

Most recently, Sorensen lead Loyola Academy Maroon to the State Championship Title in 2017, Loyola Academy Gold to the State Championship Title in 2018 & Loyola Academy Gold as a State Championship Finalist in 2019.

In addition, Sorensen worked with the Chicago Reapers 2011, 2012 & 2013 age groups and won State Titles in 2022 for U12 and U11.

Sorensen is a native of Newmarket, Ontario, Canada and currently resides in Chicago and is Level 4 USAH certified.
