2020 CCM68 Standouts And Leaders
The 2020 CCM68 Combine was held in Chicago over the weekend, where 200×85 welcomed the top 68 boys and 68 girls from the 2006-birth year to showcase their skills. Following the conclusion of on-ice speed testing, off-ice strength and agility testing and a series of practice, skills and competition sessions, the weekend saw several standouts from CCM68.
Beginning with the First-Team and Second-Team All-Combine players, these athletes displayed their skills through all phases of the event.
Boys First-Team All-Combine
Forward Trevor Connelly, Santa Ana, California
Connelly is an offensive threat every single shift. He doesn’t need much space to make something big happen during the course of a game. The California native is a very elusive skater and extremely deceptive with the puck. He can make space for himself in the tightest of coverages.
Forward Aidan Park, Playa Vista, California
Park is a big, strong, fast and powerful forward. He has a knack for finding the back of the net and knows where to go to find the puck. He possesses a heavy shot and quick release. The 5-foot-10 Park is a smart player who imposes himself every time he steps on the ice.
Forward Kristian Epperson, Mequon, Wisconsin
A true 200-foot player with high-end play-making ability. Epperson is cautious, yet smart with the puck on his stick and rarely turns it over. Those puck protection skills make him stand out and coupling that with his strong skating elevates him to elite for the 06-age group. Epperson sees the ice extremely well.
Defenseman John Whipple, Deephaven, Minnesota
A smooth-skating, skillful defenseman with great vision in all three zones. Whipple has efficient feet, a great stick and high hockey I.Q. He defends the zone extremely well while maintaining good senses for pushing the back end and jumping into the rush. Whipple has the ability to create offense from anywhere.Â
Defenseman Drake Murray, Manhattan Beach, California
A big defenseman that plays steady and strong; checks off all the intangibles for the position. Murray plays big, has good feet, an active stick and is very smart. Two underappreciated but heavily valued characteristics: a good first pass and a very heavy shot.
Goalie Vladi Bryzgalov, Haddenfield, New Jersey
He possesses a confident presence in net which is felt by the opposition. Bryzgalov has a high compete level and is extremely quick with controlled feet and effective lateral movement. He is tough to beat from anywhere and is never out of the play.Â

Girls First-Team All-Combine
Forward Ella Lucia, Bloomfield, Michigan
She is a power forward with a high compete level. Lucia has good size and mobility, and a knack for finding the scoring areas. The Michigan native plays a complete, 200-foot game with an ability to be effective in all three zones.
Forward Taylor Porthan, Edina, Minnesota
A talented, dynamic player who can fit in any position on the ice. Porthan is an extremely gifted skater that plays at a fast pace. She is a great puck mover with even better vision, finding passing options all over the ice.
Forward McKenna Walsh, Oswego, Illinois
McKenna is a natural goal scorer. She is very decisive with the puck on her stick, operating with high-end speed and finishing with a heavy, accurate shot. McKenna is an offensive threat every shift of the game.
Defender Ella Muralt, Palo Alto, California
A solid blue-liner with size and speed. Muralt is very difficult to beat anywhere on the ice and eliminates the opponents’ best players before they can even get started. She also maintains a heavy shot from the blue line that seemingly finds its way through traffic.
Defender Lola Reid, Lincoln, Nebraska
Reid is a big, strong player with elite puck possession skills. She is a top-end defender who can flex as a pure goal scorer as well. Reid can play in any situation and shines brightest in the biggest moments.
Goalie Rachael Irving, Auburn, New Hampshire
Irving is a focused and determined netminder who tracks the play very well. She relies on solid fundamentals, and seems to constantly make her biggest saves when they are needed the most.Â

Girls Second-Team All-Combine
Forward Maeve McAdams, Glencoe, Illinois
Forward Nicola Forth, Schwanksville, Pennsylvania
Forward Evelyn Latka, Highlands Ranch, Colorado
Defender Taylor Scott, Wildwood, Missouri
