Exploring the World of European Hockey
200×85’s Unforgettable Europe Experiences in 2023
In the summer of 2023, 200×85 offered young hockey players and their families two incredible Europe Experiences: the CCM World Euro Invite Bled in Slovenia and Prague Summer Hockey in the Czech Republic. These unique hockey tournaments were not just about the games on the ice; they were about creating unforgettable memories and immersing participants in the rich cultural tapestry of Europe.

The CCM Euro Invite, organized by 200×85, stood out from other youth hockey experiences by focusing on providing a holistic experience for attendees beyond the rink. Players, along with their families, were treated to an extraordinary cultural immersion, including sampling local cuisine at authentic restaurants and enjoying guided tours by local professionals. This allowed everyone to get a taste of the true essence of European life and traditions.
On the ice, the competition was fierce and international. Teams from various countries, including the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, Russia, and the United States, gathered to showcase their talents and compete against each other. The CCM Selects USA was the sole representative from the United States, making the tournament even more special for the American players. This setting offered players a unique opportunity to test their skills against European talent, fostering growth and development in their hockey careers.

CCM World Euro Invite Bled took place from July 24 to July 31 in the picturesque town of Bled, Slovenia. The tournament catered to players born between 2010 and 2013, accompanied by their families. The trip was a perfect blend of sports and culture, offering participants an opportunity to explore Bled Castle, Planica Center, Vintgar Gorge, Ljubljana City, and more. The stunning natural beauty of Slovenia combined with the thrill of hockey competitions created an experience of a lifetime for the young athletes.

The feedback from the families who attended the Bled Experience spoke volumes about the impact of the trip. Brian and Jessica Cline, parents of Greylin Cline, expressed their gratitude, stating that their son not only got to pursue his passion for hockey but also had a once-in-a-lifetime chance to experience a different country. The trip served as a meaningful stepping stone for Greylin, marking his first overseas journey and leaving him with cherished memories.

Prague Summer Hockey, held from July 25 to July 31 in the Czech Republic, was tailored to players born between 2007 and 2009 and their families. The tournament featured teams from Finland, Sweden, Slovakia, Czech Republic, and the USA, setting the stage for thrilling and competitive matches. However, it wasn’t just about the games. The Prague Experience provided families with the unique opportunity to witness the opening face-off, performed by none other than legendary Hockey Hall of Famer, Dominik Hasek. This special moment was just the beginning of an unforgettable journey.
In addition to the hockey aspect, the participants had the chance to explore the mesmerizing beauty of Prague and its historical landmarks, including stunning castles and captivating city tours. The combination of elite hockey and cultural enrichment made this trip an unparalleled adventure for all involved.
Maryann Baret, mother of Max Baret, had nothing but praise for the Prague trip. She thanked the organizers for the exceptional coaching, which helped enhance her son’s hockey IQ, and appreciated the meticulous organization of the tournament, from accommodation to transportation. This allowed the families to focus on enjoying the experience without any worries.
Overall, 200×85’s Europe Experiences in 2023 provided aspiring young hockey players with the chance to grow both on and off the ice. On the ice we are proud of the 2012 CCM Selects North America and the 2010 CCM Selects USA who took third place at the CCM Euro World invite, but these tournaments were more than just sporting events; they were gateways to exploring new cultures, creating lifelong memories, and building connections with players from across the globe. The success and positive feedback from the Bled and Prague trips are a testament to 200×85’s commitment to offering transformative experiences that extend far beyond the hockey rink. As these young athletes continue to pursue their hockey dreams, they will forever carry with them the enriching experiences and cherished moments from their unforgettable journeys through European hockey.
