CCM CHICAGO SHOWCASE TOURNAMENT RULES

Period Length, Penalties, Start Times, Running Clock:

• With the exception of Game 1 of each day; teams must be prepared to start 15 minutes early. If the officials are ready, both teams must be prepared to play.
• 3-minute warm up
• 1^st Period & 2^nd Period – 12 minutes
• 3^rd Period – 15 minutes
• No games will finish in a tie; Overtime Format (for ALL games)
  • 2-minute sudden death – 3 v 3 (in the event of a carry over or current penalty, 4 v 3)
  • 2-minute sudden death – 2 v 2 (in the event of a carry over or current penalty, 3 v 2)
  • 3-player Shootout
  • Sudden Death Shootout
    • At no time may a player shoot twice before every dressed skater shoots once
  • Penalties: 2:00 minor – 5:00 major – 10:00 misconduct

Game Play:

• Tag-Up Offsides
• Teams are allowed to ice the puck when shorthanded
• Home Team wears WHITE/Light – Visitor wears DARK
• Non-Check
• Running Clock - 3rd period only; 6+ goal differential. The clock will stop if the lead is cut to 5.

Standings, Tiebreakers, Playoffs:

• 3 pts for a Regulation Win
• 2 pts for an Overtime Win
• 1 pt for an Overtime Loss
• 0 pts for a Regulation Loss
• If at the end of Round Robin play, two teams are tied:
  • 1 – Head to Head
  • 2 – Most Wins
  • 3 – Goal Differential
• If at the end of Round Robin play, three+ teams are ties:
  • 1 – Most Wins
  • 2 – Points in games between the tied teams
  • 3 – Goal differential in games between the tied teams
  • 4 – Goal differential in ALL games
  • 5 – Fewest Goals against in ALL games
• For calculating goal differential, a MAX of +6 goals will be awarded for any round robin game.
