CCM Chicago Competes with Heart at the 2025 Brick Invitational

The Brick Invitational Hockey Tournament remains one of the most iconic youth hockey events in the world. Hosted annually at West Edmonton Mall in Alberta, this premier showcase brings together the top 10U talent from across North America for a week of elite-level competition, unforgettable memories, and camaraderie on and off the ice.

Representing the Midwest with pride, CCM Chicago returned to Edmonton for the 2025 edition of the tournament. Led by Director and Head Coach Justin Lewandowski, along with Assistant Coaches Spencer Montgomery and Tom Gilbert, the team spent months preparing for the opportunity to compete on one of the sport’s biggest youth stages.

Over the course of the week, CCM Chicago battled through a tough round robin schedule, finishing with a 2-4 record. Highlights included a decisive opening game victory 5-2 over Connecticut Jr Rangers, a come from behind overtime victory over Team Manitoba, and a hard fought 2-1 loss to the eventual Brick Cup Champions, Toronto Pro Hockey. Despite the demanding schedule and fierce competition, CCM Chicago never backed down. Every shift was marked by effort, energy, and a will to compete—core values of the CCM Chicago program.

“Our group showed tremendous grit and character throughout the week,” said Head Coach Justin Lewandowski. “Regardless of the result, they played for each other and soaked in the entire Brick experience. It’s something they’ll carry with them forever.”

A standout moment of the week came during Brickley’s Showdown, the tournament’s prestigious all-star game featuring top U.S. and Canadian players. CCM Chicago was proud to see Dominic Dinnocenzo, Jaden Becker, and Trent O’Neil selected to represent Team USA, a testament to their outstanding play and leadership throughout the tournament.

As always, the Brick Invitational was more than just a tournament—it was an experience. From walking through the West Edmonton Mall in team gear to bonding with teammates during off-ice events, this annual tradition continues to be a rite of passage for many young hockey players.

“We always tell the kids this event is about more than wins and losses,” said Assistant Coach Spencer Montgomery. “It’s about the lifelong friendships, the atmosphere, and the pride in representing CCM Chicago on such a storied stage.”

CCM Chicago is grateful to all the players, families, and supporters who made the 2025 Brick Invitational journey possible. As the program looks ahead to the future, CCM Chicago will host its first evaluation camp for 2016-born players this summer. Keep an eye out as dates will be announced soon.

Congratulations to our 2025 Brick team on a great week in Edmonton—your memories and legacy are just beginning.
