CCM Shoulder Check Showcase Expands

The Shoulder Check Showcase is growing! Building on the incredible success of last year’s 14U event, we are thrilled to announce that the 2025 CCM Shoulder Check Showcase will expand to include 13U, 14U, 15U, and 16U divisions. This exciting development will provide even more young athletes with the opportunity to compete at a premier level while supporting an inspiring cause.

Continuing a Legacy

The Shoulder Check Showcase, founded in memory of Hayden Thorsen, is more than just a hockey event—it’s a movement. With its core mission to promote mental health awareness and foster a supportive community, the showcase has become a powerful platform for change. Expanding to additional age groups allows us to spread this message further, reaching more players and families across the hockey community.

Rob Thorsen, founder of Shoulder Check and Hayden’s father, shared, “The more young people we reach, the greater impact we can make. Expanding the Showcase ensures that more players have the opportunity to take part in this special event while reinforcing the importance of reaching out, checking in, and making contact.”

A Growing Event with a Powerful Message

Last year’s 14U event brought together elite players, dedicated coaches, and passionate families for an unforgettable weekend of hockey and connection. The showcase also featured an inspiring celebrity game, with over 30 professional players from the NHL and PWHL uniting to raise awareness for mental health.

Expanding the Showcase to additional divisions means we can reach even more people with the Shoulder Check message, while also providing elite competition and opportunities for these young athletes.”
