Rowdy Weekend at 2022 CCM Dallas

Youth Hockey Teams and 200×85 Take Over the Lone Star State

Starting Saturday, October 10th, 145 youth hockey teams hit the ice in Dallas, TX for the 2022 CCM Dallas. Over the three-day event, the Boys and Girls divisions combined for 328 games and nearly 2,000 goals. Every goal made a difference, ten championship matches were decided by a goal.

 

BOYS 2013 Division
After tying 3-3 in pool play, the Dallas Stars Elite and the Phoenix Jr. The Coyotes met again in the championship. The final was just as tight of a match, resulting in a 4-3 final. The Dallas Stars Elite came out on top and Jonas Smailys, of the Stars Elite, was named the Howie’s Hockey 2013 Division MVP.

 

BOYS 2012 AA Division
Entering the final with only one loss, the St. Louis Eagles had the Dallas Penguins standing in their way. The Eagles may have led the division in scoring (28 goals) heading into the championship, but the Penguins were not going to surrender easily. Both teams gave it all they could and the St. Louis Eagles edged the Penguins out by a final score of 3-2. In addition to the championship

 

BOYS 2012 AAA Division
The South Shore Kings made it through pool play averaging five goals a game but had proven to be beatable once. However, they came to play for the championship game scoring seven goals in their championship victory over the St. Louis Eagles. The Howie’s Hockey 2012 AAA Division MVP was awarded to King’s Tanner Sullivan.

 

BOYS 2011 AA Division
Both the Texas Tigers and McKinney North Stars advanced to the final undefeated in regulation. These two teams went to battle in their home state and it was a tight match the whole way. Ethan Liu, Howie’s Hockey 2011 AA Division MVP, helped the North Stars wrangle the Tigers in a 4-3 championship victory.

 

BOYS 2011 AAA Division
With decisive wins in the semi-finals, the Dallas Stars Elite and the Anaheim Jr. Ducks were on a collision course. The Stars Elite entered the final undefeated, including two shutouts and a win over the Jr. Ducks already. The Jr. Ducks were not intimidated but were in for a battle. In the end, the Jr. Ducks avenged their only loss on the weekend with a 5-4 championship victory with the assistance of Jacob Fleming, the Howie’s Hockey 2011 AAA Division MVP.

 

BOYS 2010 AA Division
With their only coming from KCHC, the Dallas Penguins were set for a semi-final rematch. After a narrow 2-1 victory over KCHC, the Penguins were set for another rematch in the final. This time it was a rematch versus a team they had defeated in pool play. Though they had fallen to the Penguins once, the West Dundee Leafs did not allow it to happen again. The Leafs defeated the hometown Penguins by a final score of 3-2. Brayden Lindley, West Dundee Leaf, was named Howie’s Hockey 2010 AA Division MVP.

 

BOYS 2010 AAA Division
The 2010 AAA division finalists were at no shortage of offense. The Dallas Stars Elite led the division with 35 goals; the Reapers were right behind them at 28. This was round two for these teams following a 7-5 Stars Elite victory in pool play. The championship match required overtime, and the Reapers defeated the Stars Elite 4-3. Reaper’s Patrick Taylor was named Howie’s Hockey 2010 AAA Division MVP.

 

BOYS 2009 AA Division
The St. Louis Sting and McKinney North Stars met in pool play, the match ended in a 0-0 stalemate. Their rematch came in the championship with the St. Louis Sting victorious. Colin Powers, St. Louis Sting, was awarded the Howie’s Hockey 2009 AA Division MVP following their 2-1 victory.

 

BOYS 2009 AAA Division
Undefeated, the Dallas Stars Elite and Oakland Grizzlies were looking to complete the weekend sweep and bring a banner to their home rink. The home state team prevailed and Diego Gutierrez, Stars Elite, was named Howie’s Hockey 2009 AAA Division MVP.

 

BOYS 2012 AAA Division
The South Shore Kings made it through pool play averaging five goals a game but had proven to be beatable once. However, they came to play for the championship game scoring seven goals in their championship victory over the St. Louis Eagles. The Howie’s Hockey 2012 AAA Division MVP was awarded to King’s Tanner Sullivan.

 

BOYS 2008 Division
Carolina Premier Hockey entered the championship game undefeated. The opponent, the St. Louis Eagles, was prepared for Carolina. The Eagles handed Carolina their first loss of the weekend and took the title. Following their 4-2 victory, Eagle’s Braden Meszaros was named the Howie’s Hockey 2009 AAA Division MVP.

 

BOYS 2008 Elite Division
Opening the tournament with a shutout loss to the Dallas Stars Elite, the Florida Alliance was faced with a rematch in the final. The Stars Elite entered the match with a 4-0 record and were looking to add the fifth, and more importantly, win of the weekend. Jeff Hurlbert, Howie’s Hockey 2008 Elite Division MVP, and the Stars Elite proved to be too much for the Alliance. The Stars Elite knocked off the Alliance 6-1 and ended the weekend as an undisputed champion.

 

BOYS 15U AA Division
The home state Texas Tigers entered the championship match undefeated. Their path to the finals included a decisive victory over their finals opponent, Florida Warriors. The Warriors did not make it as easy this time, yet the Tigers completed their weekend sweep with a 3-2 victory. The Tiger’s Cain Frosk was named Howie’s Hockey 15U AA Division MVP.

 

BOYS 15U AAA Division
The Carolina Jr. Hurricanes and California Golden Bears met in the Championship. In their pool play match, the east coast team prevailed 4-2. The same thing happened in the final. The Jr. Hurricanes and Ryan Hedley, Howie’s Hockey 15U AAA Division MVP, won by the final score of 4-2.

 

BOYS 16U Division
North Shore Hockey Academy National may have been undefeated, but their tightest game during pool play was against their final opponent. The Texas Tigers were ready to flip the script in the final, but North Shore wouldn’t let them. North Shore completed their undisputed championship weekend with Volodymyr Nikituik named Howie’s Hockey 16U Division MVP following their 5-1 victory.

 

BOYS 18U Division
The North Shore Hockey Academy National had only one loss entering the championship game. In the semi-final, the New Hampshire Monarchs defeated the only team to beat North Shore, Florida Alliance. Primed for a tight contest, they did not disappoint. North Shore pulled out the 4-3 victory to earn their banner. North Shore’s Spencer Sasenbury was named Howie’s Hockey 18U Division MVP.

 


Girls 12U Tier I Division
Opening the weekend with a 4-2 victory over Team Colorado, the Anaheim Lady Ducks swept through the rest of their competition to arrive in the finals. Following the loss, Team Colorado had three straight shutouts and was ready for a rematch. Team Colorado flipped the script with a 4-2. Team Colorado’s Charlee Hood was named Howie’s Hockey Girls 12U Tier I Division MVP.

 

Girls 12U Tier II Division
One tie was the only blemish on Team Colorado’s record coming out of pool play. Their opponent, the Bay State Breakers, had two shutout victories in pool play that contributed to their 4-1 record. In the final, the Breakers shut down Team Colorado. In their third shutout of the weekend, the Breakers clinched their championship by a score of 3-0. Peyton Sowersby was named Howie’s Hockey Girls 14U Tier II Division MVP.

 

Girls 14U Tier II Division
One tie was the only blemish on Team Colorado’s record coming out of pool play. Their opponent, the Bay State Breakers, had two shutout victories in pool play that contributed to their 4-1 record. In the final, the Breakers shut down Team Colorado. In their third shutout of the weekend, the Breakers clinched their championship by a score of 3-0. Peyton Sowersby was named Howie’s Hockey Girls 14U Tier II Division MVP.

 

Girls 14U Tier I Division

The St. Louis Lady Blues and Team Colorado met in pool play, the match ended in a 1-1 stalemate. Following that game, the Lady Blues did not surrender another goal on the weekend. Their fourth shutout was a 3-0 victory over Team Colorado in the championship. Ava Whaley, Howie’s Hockey Girls 14U Tier I Division MVP, and the Lady Blues earned their banner with true defensive dominance.

 

Girls 16U Tier II Division
Tied 1-1 at the end of regulation, the Florida Alliance and Nashville Jr. The Predators needed overtime to decide a champion. Previously in pool play, the Alliance defeated the Jr. Predators 2-1 and were hoping to do it again. The Jr. Predators had other plans. Overtime ended with the Jr. Predators being the victors this time. In addition to their championship banner, Samantha Kopp was named Howie’s Hockey Girls 16U Tier II Division MVP.

 

Girls 16U Tier I Division
Far from home, Team Alaska went undefeated on their path to the final where they would face the hometown Dallas Stars Elite. Liz Sharpe, Howie’s Hockey Girls 16U Tier I Division MVP, and Team Alaska completed the weekend sweep defeating the Dallas Stars Elite 3-1.

 

Girls 19U Tier II Division
Surrendering only four goals, the undefeated Team Colorado was ready to challenge the hometown Dallas Stars Elite for the banner. Team Colorado left no doubts about who the champion was with a 3-0 shutout victory. In addition to their championship banner, Vlala Stirk was named Howie’s Hockey Girls 19U Tier II Division MVP.

 

Girls 19U Tier I Division
After tying 1-1 in pool play, the Dallas Stars Elite and Team Colorado met again in the final. Lola Rubenstein, Howie’s Hockey Girls 19U Tier I Division MVP, and Dallas Stars Elite defeated Team Colorado this time and ended the weekend on top.
