The 2024 Finland Lions Cup Journey
Exploring Europe’s Nordic Region with CCM Selects 2011 and 2010 Teams
Our CCM Selects 2011 team just returned from an exhilarating trip to Finland, marking the grand finale of the 2024 Finland Lions Cup. We proudly sent two teams to Europe’s Nordic region, one representing the 2010 birth year and the other the 2011 birth year. The 2010 team embarked on their journey first, from March 24th to April 1st, while the 2011 team followed from April 7th to the 15th. Since their return, we’ve been buzzing with incredible stories and glowing feedback from their adventure, and we’re eager to share some highlights with you.
Both teams kicked off their expedition in Stockholm, Sweden. They immersed themselves in the rich history of the Vasa Warship Museum, explored the picturesque streets of Stockholm, and indulged in delectable Swedish cuisine, setting the stage for an unforgettable experience before setting sail for Finland aboard the Silja Line Cruise.
Upon reaching Helsinki, our players and families continued their European escapade with visits to iconic cities. From Helsinki to Tallinn, Estonia, they marveled at architectural wonders and cultural treasures. Prior to the tournament kick-off, they delved into history at Suomenlinna Fortress Island. Even during the tournament, the excitement didn’t wane, with activities ranging from shopping at Iso Omena Mall to relaxing at the Sauna & Swimming at Allas Sea Pool.
“Very well organized from start to finish. Excellent excursions offered as well as just enough free time. Our guide- Mikke Myrra, was the best guide I have ever had and have done many of these tours (we have four ice hockey players)” shared a parent from the 2011 CCM Selects team. “Our family will absolutely sign up for another tournament with your company BECAUSE of Mikke and how flawlessly he ran the tour. I cannot say enough about what a difference he made for the experience. Thank you for keeping him on staff!”
While the Finland Lions Cup tour may have concluded, our European adventures are far from over this summer. Next up is the CCM World Euro Invite AAA in Bled, Slovenia.
