Three Events, One Incredible Weekend
This past weekend, 200×85 hockey was buzzing from coast to coast with three marquee events: CCM Denver, the CCM Happy Valley Showcase at Penn State, and the first-ever Dick’s Sporting Goods Classic in Rochester, New York. From record-breaking competition to unforgettable off-ice moments, each event brought its own energy and excitement.
Dick’s Sporting Goods Classic — A New Tradition Begins
The inaugural Dick’s Sporting Goods Classic set the tone for a bright future. 29 teams traveled to New York to be part of the event’s debut, and the weekend kicked off in style with a star-studded opening night. Jacob Ardown and Olly Postanin (On The Bench) brought their trademark antics to the ice alongside Swaggy Pete, who wowed players and fans alike during the Dangle Derby skills competition.

The players embraced the unique atmosphere—competing shoulder-to-shoulder with hockey creators, battling in skills games, and enjoying the show. When the dust settled, four teams stood tall as undefeated, undisputed champions: Compuware, Cleveland Barons, Mid-Fairfield Rangers, and Saints Hockey Club.

CCM Happy Valley Showcase at Penn State — Year Two Brings the Heat
The second edition of the CCM Happy Valley Showcase featured 16 elite teams and delivered showcase-style hockey at its best. With no championship format, every game was about pure competition—and the level of play did not disappoint.
Two clubs finished undefeated in regulation: the Washington Little Caps, who went a perfect 5–0, and Genesis Hockey Club, who posted three wins and two ties. Right behind them were Mid-Fairfield AAA, Team Philadelphia, and the Kitchener Jr Rangers, each finishing with just a single loss.
In addition to the action on the ice, players and families also got an inside look at Penn State Hockey, touring the Nittany Lions’ locker room and exploring their world-class facilities—an experience that added a true Division I feel to the weekend.
Across 40 games, teams combined for an impressive 263 goals—an average of 6.58 goals per game. Clubs traveled from Michigan, Ontario, New Jersey, Connecticut, New York, Ohio, and Virginia to take part in this high-intensity showcase.

Competition was fierce across 13 divisions, with all 13 crowning champions by Sunday night. The drama was at an all-time high, as five championship games went to a shootout, and another needed overtime to decide a winner.
