2023 CCM Nashville Results

2013 Division

The Long Island Whalers and Mid Fairfield AAA were pool play powerhouses. Each team rolled through their first four games undefeated and seemed to be on a collision course for the finals. The only obstacle remaining was the semi-finals, where each team would play a rematch versus a team they defeated previously in the weekend. Early Sunday morning Mid Fairfield took to the ice versus the St. Louis Knights, who they defeated 7-3 on Friday. The Knights were up to the task and forced overtime and eventually avenged their previous loss by a final score of 5-4. Hoping to avoid a similar upset, the Long Island Whalers would face the Music City Marauders. The Marauders lost to the Whalers in their opening game though that would not be the case in the rematch. The Marauders punched their ticket to the finals with a 6-5 victory. It was anyone’s game in the finals as the game tilted back and forth. Though there was no shortage of goals, it only took one to make the difference as the St. Louis Knights were victorious 7-6. In addition to their championship banner, Brooks Goldwasser was named the 2013 Division Howie’s Hockey MVP.

2012 Division

It was a Wisconsin heavy semi-final round with three of the four teams remaining being from the Badger State. Only one of the three Wisconsin teams survived the semi-final round with the Wisconsin Selects and the Nashville Warriors adding to their unblemished records and advancing to the finals. In a tightly contested championship, the Selects edged out the hometown team 6-5. Following their championship victory, Brecken Anderson was named the 2012 Division Howie’s Hockey MVP.

2011 Division

The stage was set for the Huron Perth Lakers and Team Wisconsin to battle in the championship. The Lakers looked to continue their three-game shutout streak. Team Wisconsin had a different streak, registering 7 goals or more in each of their last three matches. Neither team was able to extend their streak as regulation concluded in a 2-2 draw. The Lakers ended up victorious with Landon McCann being named the 2011 Division Howie’s Hockey MVP.

2010 Division

The Anaheim Ice Dogs, Lambton Jr. Sting, Nashville Jr. Predators and Team Wisconsin had not suffered a loss yet and were the only teams standing come Sunday. Following the early morning semifinals, the field was narrowed to two. Team Wisconsin was set to face a Canadian counterpart, Lambton, in the finals. Each team had no issues scoring goals throughout the weekend as they both netted over 30 goals on their path to the finals. We were bracing for a high-scoring affair, however the championship was tight. The teams only combined seven goals total and Team Wisconsin not only achieved victory but solidified their undisputed championship weekend. Following their 5-2 championship win, Tripp Wroblewski was named the 2010 Division Howie’s Hockey MVP.

2009 Division

Following a shutout in the quarterfinals, a 5-0 victory secured a spot in the championship for the Oshawa Generals. Their opposition, the California Golden Bears, had been nearly perfect all weekend as they had a matching 4-0-1 record. We expected another tightly contested championship match and the teams delivered. When the final buzzer rang, the Golden Bears cleared the bench in celebration and flooded the ice with their helmets and gloves as they took the team photo with their championship banner. Following their 4-2 championship win, Ethan Xu was named the 2009 Division Howie’s Hockey MVP.
