Marking a Milestone in Youth Hockey Development

Last year, 200×85 celebrated ten years of its CCM 68 program by elevating it to a new level- bringing in 68 Canadian boys and 68 Canadian girls to join the Americans at the event in Chicago. In an effort to ensure that only the top 14U players receive invitations to CCM 68, 200×85 is proud to announce that the CCM 68 Futures ID Camp is coming to Toronto, Canada. This marks the first time the CCM 68 Futures program will host a combine in Canada, demonstrating the organization’s commitment to fostering talent on an international scale.

The weekend in Toronto, scheduled for April 26-28, 2024, will provide young athletes with an unparalleled opportunity to enhance their skills, receive top-notch instruction, and gain valuable insights into their performance. Though CCM 68 Futures does have a development-based approach, its primary objective is to provide players with the opportunity to showcase their talents and get on our radar for the CCM 68 program for the following season. Last summer, 17 players received early invitations to this upcoming CCM 68 Combine thanks to their performance at a 68 Futures camp, and many more got on our radar and have been scouted throughout this season.

In addition to the opportunity for exposure and development, the program has much more to offer. Players participate in two intense on-ice training sessions run by professional, collegiate, and junior coaches, two off-ice training sessions, three high-profile games that showcase their skills, an NCSA College Hockey Recruiting seminar, and a Performance/Nutrition seminar.

“We are excited to expand the CCM 68 Futures program to Canada, and provide hockey players born in 2011 with an experience that goes beyond traditional training camps. By adding a combine outside Toronto, we aim to further enhance the reach of this program and create a platform for players to gauge their abilities and help us continue to ensure we invite the most elite players to CCM 68,” said Mike Embach, Director of Player Development at 200×85.

The 2024 CCM Futures program will be hosted in six cities, offering young talents across North America the chance to participate in this unique developmental experience. The schedule/locations for the 2011 birth year category is as follows:

• April 12-14, 2024 – Arizona (Mullet Arena) – 2011 Boys
• April 26-28, 2024 – Toronto (Westwood Arena) – 2011 Boys & Girls
• May 10-12, 2024 – Pennsylvania (UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex) – 2011 Boys
• May 31 – June 2, 2024 – Massachusetts (Boston Sports Institute) – 2011 Boys & Girls
• June 21-23, 2024 – Minnesota (Ed Saugestad Arena) – 2011 Boys
• July 19-21, 2024 – Michigan (Munn Arena) – 2011 Boys & Girls

Participants in the CCM 68 Futures program will leave with a comprehensive understanding of their strengths and areas for improvement and position themselves for potential invitations to the following summer’s CCM 68 as U14 Bantam Majors.
