Changes to the 2021 Nation’s Cup Format

200×85 has announced changes to its inaugural event, the CCM Nation’s Cup, slated for November 26 – 28, 2021

Originally structured to be a showcase pitting top Tier-2 U.S.-based teams against Canadian teams in a five-game showdown, CCM Nation’s Cup tournament organizers have had to amend the tournament format for purposes relating to COVID-19.

For the 2021 event, the field of teams will be divided into East and West divisions, as opposed to the originally planned Canada and U.S. divisions. Teams will be split as follows:

• Michigan and all subsequent states east will fall under the Eastern Division. 
• Illinois and all subsequent states west will fall under the Western Division.

Canadian teams are still welcome to participate, so long as they are allowed to partake in international travel by the tournament start date. They will be placed in divisions based once applications are received. The format of the tournament remains the same, with five games guaranteed against opponents in the opposite division. Special jerseys and socks will also be included in the entry price. Please note that each age group will be broken up into two divisions. This will allow for the best competition possible throughout the tournament.

The change in format comes in response to the uncertainty of COVID-19 as it relates to international travel. Tournament organizers feel this decision is in the best interest of currently registered teams, as well as leaving the door open to potential Canadian teams attending the event as well.
