*It is the responsibility of each coach to read the score sheet after each game and to ensure that suspended players are advised of their suspension and not permitted to play in the next game.
Running Clock

If at any point the lead is cut to 4 goals in the 2nd period, the clock will stop again.
If a 5 goal spread exists at the start of the 3rd period, or at any time during the 3rd period,

The clock will stop to register any penalties, and resume running as soon as the penalty is posted on the clock.
Start Times
Teams are asked to be at the rink at least 45 minutes prior to their scheduled game time.
In the event the previous game finishes early, teams playing the next game will be expected to take the ice
as soon as re-surfacing is completed and/or referees are available.
In no event, however, shall a game begin more than 15 minutes prior to its scheduled start time.
If the on-ice and off-ice officials are ready, the game MUST START.
Timeouts
There will be NO Timeouts for Round-Robin and Consolation Games.
In all Playoff Games (Round of 16, Quarterfinal, Semifinal, and Championship),
each team will be allowed a single one (1) minute timeout.
Preliminary Games
In the prelim games of the tournament, all games tied after regulation will go directly to a sudden-death shootout.
The home team shoots first.
*No shooter may shoot twice before every player on the bench has shot once.
*Players in the penalty box may NOT shoot in the shootout.
All divisions will be scored:
- 3 points – Regulation win
- 2 points – Shootout win
- 1 point – Shootout loss
- 0 points – Regulation loss
Playoff Overtime
No Tie Games in Round of 16 Playoffs, Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and Championship Games.
A winning team and a losing team must emerge from these games.
If at the end of regulation time the score is tied, the teams will play:
Sudden Death Overtime Procedure
- Goaltenders Switch Ends
- One 3-minute period of 3-on-3 play
- 3-player Shootout
- Sudden Death Shootout*
*The home team gets the choice who will shoot first.
*No shooter may shoot twice before every player on the bench has shot once.
*Players in the penalty box may NOT shoot in the shootout.
*If a player is not listed on the scoresheet, that player is NOT allowed to shoot in the shootout.
Advancements
Playoff team seeding will be listed on the schedule shortly after the final division game is completed.
Tiebreaker A: Two Teams Tied
When two teams have equal points, seeding is determined in the following order:
- Head-to-Head
- Most Wins (Regulation & Shootout)
- Goal Quotient = Goals For / (Goals For + Goals Against)
- Fewest Goals Against
- Coin Flip
Tiebreaker B: Three or More Teams Tied
When three or more teams have equal points, seeding is determined in the following order.
Once a tiebreaker assigns a position to one or more teams, those teams are placed accordingly.
If two teams remain tied, apply Tiebreaker A.
- Most Wins (Regulation & Shootout)
- Goal Quotient = Goals For / (Goals For + Goals Against)
- Fewest Goals Against
- Coin Flip
Tiebreaker Disclaimer
At any point in the tiebreaker process, if one tied team defeated all other tied teams in preliminary play, that team is seeded first among the tied teams. Conversely, if one tied team lost to all other tied teams, that team is seeded last among the tied teams.
Results
All games will be posted on the tournament webpage with a maximum seven(7) goal differential.
Officials
Medical Personnel, Trainers and Emergency Protocols
200x85 Tournaments require ice arenas to have a venue-specific emergency action plan for our hockey events.
Due to limitations of availability, 200x85 does not require certified athletic trainers at those venues.
Many teams have started to provide athletic trainers as part of their team staff for full-contact playing divisions (13U and older).
All Ontario teams, for example, are required to have a certified trainer on their bench or coaching staff.
We encourage teams, at their discretion, to provide athletic trainers if possible.
200x85 also recommends that any team or club with its own athletic trainer require the trainer to provide their own general liability insurance.
For any and all host facilities, the tournament protocol for medical emergencies is to follow the arena's action plan.
If a player is in need of medical attention, site directors can help provide the closest immediate care facility or emergency room hospital.
In severe instances, 911 is recommended for paramedics to arrive as early as possible.
On-Ice Officials
All games for all age divisions shall be assigned at least two referees.
For Bantam Major, Midget, Girls 16U and Girls 19U, a three-referee system may be used when applicable.
Off-Ice Officials
Each team competing in a given game shall provide a penalty box attendant for their team's penalty box.
If parents are running the game clock, penalty box attendants are not required unless penalty boxes cannot be accessed from the score clock area.
Scoresheets
It is the responsibility of each team to provide scoresheet labels for your team roster prior to each game and to make appropriate changes or notations.
It is also your responsibility to pick up your copy of the scoresheet after every game from the rink director’s table.
Equipment
Jerseys
For ALL games, the home team listed shall wear its white/light colored jersey, and the visiting team listed shall wear its colored/dark jerseys.
Mouthguards
All players, including goalkeepers, in the 12U through 18U classifications are required to wear a colored (non-clear) mouthguard.
Neck Guards
Neck guards are required. All players must wear a neck laceration protector with no alterations.
Discipline
Coaches, Parents & Other Team Personnel
Coaches, parents and other team or association personnel may be suspended or expelled from participation in the event,
including all games and removal from the rink premises, for conduct deemed by the Tournament Director to be detrimental
to the best interests of youth hockey.
Such conduct shall include, but not be limited to:
- Fighting or inciting others to fight
- Obscene language, conduct or behavior
- Language, conduct or behavior intended to intimidate others
- Refusal and/or failure to immediately heed a directive from a referee, authorized rink personnel, or the Showcase Director
On-Ice Team Conduct
200x85 is committed to ensuring greater safety and inclusiveness in hockey by identifying and addressing these issues
with any player, coach, or parent.
ANY alleged discrimination complaint will require a written report and will be addressed immediately with team officials
and turned over to the Affiliate President, Chair of Rules & Ethics, and Chair of Suspensions.
Protests
A game, including its outcome, may not be protested based on the judgments or “calls” made by an on-ice official.
Video evidence cannot overturn any goal or non-goal call. The scoresheet is final.
A game may be protested based on:
- The opponent’s use of an ineligible player
- A gross violation of rules or protocol that clearly impacts the game
PROTESTS MAY ONLY BE RECEIVED FROM THE TEAM’S HEAD COACH, MANAGER OR CLUB DIRECTOR.
Player Suspensions and Expulsions
Any player who receives a major penalty for fighting, or a game misconduct of any kind, shall automatically be suspended
from the remainder of that game and their next game.
At the conclusion of each game, the coach of each team is responsible for reviewing the scoresheet to determine whether
any player or team official has been suspended or disqualified.
Racial Slurs
If an alleged racial slur is not heard by on-ice officials, team staff should notify the officials immediately.
Officials must address the accusation with opposing coaches and issue an incident report following the game.
The tournament cannot suspend or penalize a player or team for alleged statements unless documented by referees or on the scoresheet.
The use of hateful language is a barrier to creating a welcoming environment for families in our sport.
Eliminating this behavior is critical as we strive to make a positive impact through hockey.
Rosters & Eligibility
Official Rosters
The team representative must complete the "Official Roster Form" and return it to tournament administration
no later than 30 days before the start of the tournament.
Player Eligibility, Double Rosters, & Age Classifications
No player is allowed to participate on more than one team in their respective age division, regardless of tier.
A player may play on two rosters in different age classifications (e.g., 16U & 19U).
No player can be added to any roster after the tournament begins. Any team using an ineligible player shall forfeit
all games in which that player participated, and the player will be suspended for the remainder of the showcase.
Pure Birth Year Divisions
The tournament directors recognize that not all hockey markets and regions follow the same structure.
Some organizations still use AA and A designations with combined birth year teams.
Teams that do not follow pure birth-year breakdowns should contact the showcase director for appropriate placement.
The goal is to provide the most competitively balanced event for all teams and divisions.
If competitively appropriate, mixed birth-year teams may be allowed to compete in minor birth year divisions.
Team Placement and Division Breakdown
Tournament division designations are not exclusive to teams officially rostered in those categories.
Divisions will be structured and teams placed based on competitive level, including factors such as schedules, results,
ratings, rankings, previous history, and other relevant data.
For example, Tier 1 divisions may include Tier 2 teams, and Tier 2 divisions may include Tier 1 teams,
depending on competitive balance.
Division Formats
Body Contact
Will be allowed for ages 13U and older in our boys divisions.
