High-End Hockey Shines at Notre Dame

CCM Shootout Mid-Season Recap


The CCM Shootout is officially at the midway point of the 2025-26 season, and the action at the University of Notre Dame has already delivered everything the showcase is known for—elite competition, high-scoring games, and a first-class experience at Compton Family Ice Arena.

Through three completed weekends, 41 teams across the 2011, 2013, and 2015 birth year divisions have taken the ice, combining for 103 games and an impressive 577 total goals scored. With each division showcased on its own weekend, the CCM Shootout continues to provide a focused, high-level environment where top programs can measure themselves against premier competition from across North America.

 


Undefeated Performances & Standout Weekends

Consistency and depth have been on full display so far. Indiana Elite (2011) remains the only team to post a perfect weekend, navigating the showcase without a blemish.

Several other teams also left Notre Dame with only one loss, highlighting just how competitive each division has been:

Goals have come in waves throughout the first half of the CCM Shootout, with several teams setting the pace offensively:

  • 2011 Indiana Elite – 29 goals
  • 2015 Indiana Elite – 25 goals
  • 2015 Madison Capitols – 22 goals
  • 2011 Milwaukee Jr. Admirals – 20 goals
  • 2015 Battle Creek Bombers – 16 goals

 


Defensive Standouts

At the other end of the ice, a number of teams made their mark by limiting chances and locking things down defensively:

  • 5 Goals Against: 2011 Dallas Penguins
  • 6 Goals Against: 2011 Indiana Elite, 2011 West Seneca Wings (Gold)
  • 7 Goals Against: 2013 Colorado Extreme
  • 9 Goals Against: 2013 Madison Capitols, 2013 Indiana Elite
  • 10 Goals Against: 2015 Battle Creek Bombers, 2013 Chicago Fury, 2011 St. Louis Knights
