Weekend Recap: 2024 CCM Summer Invite

New England was the convergence of167 youth hockey teams this past weekend for the 2024 CCM Summer Invite. Over 375 thrilling games were played across 13 top-notch facilities, culminating in 17 champions. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the players, families, and coaches for making this an unforgettable weekend. 2017 Division

Champion: BHC

Howie’s Hockey MVP: Syndey Dunphy, #35

The MF Berserkers and Atlantic Coast HC entered the semi-final round both undefeated in regulation, each coming off a shutout victory in their quarter-final matches. It was a tightly contested match with no shortage of goals, concluding with Atlantic Coast HC edging out the MF Berserkers 6-5 to advance to the final against BHC. BHC had been prolific all weekend, averaging over seven goals per game while maintaining a perfect record. They continued their scoring spree in the final, netting eight goals on their path to glory and claiming the championship title.


2016 Division

Champion: Mid Fairfield Bolts

Howie’s Hockey MVP: Milton Tang, #22

Both the Junior Bruins Black (4-0-0) and the Junior Bruins Gold (3-0-1) were undefeated in regulation and entered the semi-final round as the top two seeds. However, both Junior Bruins teams were eliminated, with the NH Knights and the Mid Fairfield Bolts delivering the upsets. Riding the momentum from their semi-final victories, the Bolts maintained their dominance, defeating the NH Knights 6-0 to claim the championship banner and title.


2015 Divisions

2015 Supertacks Division

Champion: Junior Bruins Gold

Howie’s Hockey MVP: Alex Thibodeau, #19

After opening Day 2 of the event with a 3-3 tie against the NB Selects (Cormier), the Junior Bruins Black secured the third seed, setting up a rematch later that night. Regulation ended in a 2-2 draw, necessitating a shootout where the Junior Bruins Black prevailed, sending the NB Selects home. The next morning, the Junior Bruins Black and Junior Bruins Gold showcased their offensive prowess, scoring a combined 17 goals in the semi-final games to eliminate the Bay State Breeze and the 401 Bulldogs. The final featured a spirited Junior Bruins showdown, with Gold defeating Black 3-1 to claim the title.

2015 Jetspeed Division

Champion: Utica Jr. Devils

Howie’s Hockey MVP: Tyler Seakan, #17

After allowing an average of just one goal per game through the first four games, the Utica Jr. Devils stood at a perfect 4-0-0, effectively shutting down their competition. In the semi-final round, The Dogs broke this trend, scoring five goals against Utica. However, it wasn’t enough, as Utica triumphed with an 8-5 victory. The NB Selects were the final obstacle between Utica and the title. In a closely contested match, Utica pulled away to secure the championship with a 5-2 win.


2014 Divisions

2014 Supertacks Division

Champion: Yetis

Howie’s Hockey MVP: Ryan Gosselin, #1

The final buzzer rang, concluding the semi-final match between the top-seeded Yetis and the fourth-seeded Blizzard Hockey Club, with the score tied at five goals apiece. In the ensuing shootout, the Yetis narrowly avoided the upset and advanced to the final to face off against Atlantic Coast Elite Purple. In the final, the Yetis left nothing to chance, dominating the game and securing a 6-0 victory. This marked their third shutout win of the weekend, their sixth overall win, and the championship title.

2014 Jetspeed Division

Champion: NB Selects

Howie’s Hockey MVP: Toby Miller, #40

After opening with a 4-4 tie, the NS Selects and NB Selects cleared the board with four consecutive wins resulting in a championship rematch. The expectation was for another incredibly tight match, but the NB Selects had other plans. The NB Selects buried the NS Selects, tallying seven goals in route to their 7-1 championship victory.


2013 Divisions

2013 Supertacks Division

Champion: Lions Jr.

Howie’s Hockey MVP: Alexis Desharnais, #29

Following their 6-0 semi-final shutout victory, the Lions Jr. awaited the result of the match between the Buzz and the Boston Hockey Club. The Boston Hockey Club narrowly edged out the Buzz 4-3 to secure their spot in the title match. The final was a low-scoring, hard-fought battle, but the Lions Jr. emerged victorious with a 2-1 win, claiming the championship banner and hats.

2013 Jetspeed Division

Champion: Team Florida

Howie’s Hockey MVP: Tristan Clancy, #30

Sunday morning ushered in the semi-final round with four undefeated teams vying for supremacy. Team Florida triumphed over NS Selects Gillis, while Vice Hockey edged past Ghostbusters in a thrilling 3-2 contest. Team Florida, the top seed, had been an offensive powerhouse throughout the weekend, consistently scoring at least six goals per match. Their scoring prowess was on full display in the final, where they overpowered Vice Hockey with a decisive 7-3 victory to clinch the championship title.


2012 Divisions

2012 Supertacks Division

Champion: Atlantic Coast Elite Black

Howie’s Hockey MVP: Charlie Donovan, #27

The East Coast Militia looked unstoppable throughout pool play, delivering three consecutive shutouts against the Atlantic Coast Elite Black, TSH Selects, and Boston Kraken. In the quarterfinals, they won comfortably, although they finally conceded a couple of goals. Facing a formidable challenge from the Elite Stars Hockey Club in the semifinals, they managed to hold on for a narrow victory, advancing to the finals with a perfect 5-0-0 record. Their final opponent was the Atlantic Coast Elite Black, the team they had opened the weekend with a 3-0 shutout victory against. Undefeated since their first game loss, the Atlantic Coast Elite Black had regained their form and were ready for the rematch. In a stunning turn of events, they defeated the East Coast Militia 5-1 to claim the championship banner.

2012 Jetspeed Division

Champion: Vice Hockey

Howie’s Hockey MVP: Peter Morozov, #27

The quarterfinal round was rife with upsets. Eighth-seeded Behind the Bucket toppled the top-seeded Mavericks, while seventh-seeded The Hockey Path ousted the second-seeded 95ers. Fifth-seeded Vice Hockey also delivered a surprise, defeating the fourth-seeded Battery Sbarro. The third-seeded San Diego Dragons were the only top seed to advance to the semifinals, where they eventually succumbed to The Hockey Path in a close 4-3 match. The championship game proved to be just as intense, with Vice Hockey narrowly edging out The Hockey Path 4-3 to claim the title.

2011 Supertacks Division

Champion: Boston Hockey Club

Howie’s Hockey MVP: Ryan O’Leary, #30

Following a hard-fought 5-3 victory in the semifinals, Providence HC secured their place in the final and a shot at redemption against their lone defeat of the weekend. The Boston Hockey Club, boasting a flawless record that included a decisive 5-1 pool play victory over Providence HC, stood in their way. Despite putting up a valiant fight, Providence HC once again fell short, as the Boston Hockey Club triumphed, completing their perfect 6-0-0 championship run.

2011 Jetspeed Division

Champion: Fritsche’s Hockey Academy

Howie’s Hockey MVP: Will Mahoney, #4

The margins in the 2010 Jetspeed Division semifinal round were razor thin. The round opened with The Hockey Path edging out Vice Hockey 3-2, immediately followed by an even closer contest. Fritsche’s Hockey Academy and Top Gun Tier 1 required a shootout to decide the victor, with Fritsche’s Hockey Academy prevailing. They continued their momentum into the final, defeating The Hockey Path 5-2 to earn the title, championship hats, and the banner.


2010 Divisions

2010 Supertacks Division

Champion: Peak Performance Hockey

Howie’s Hockey MVP: Nick Ware, #25

After a flawless 3-0-0 pool round, Peak Performance Hockey elevated their game, scoring 12 goals over two rounds and eliminating the Snipers and BHC Black. Their final opponent, Team Real Speed, also entered the championship game undefeated, riding high from a 3-0 shutout victory over EHD Elite. However, Peak Performance Hockey delivered a dominant performance in the final, securing the division title with an emphatic 6-1 victory.

2010 Jetspeed Division

Champion: Atlantic Coast Elite Black

Howie’s Hockey MVP: Gio Perfito, #4

After opening the weekend with two narrow one-goal losses, Atlantic Coast Elite Black needed a win to qualify for the quarterfinal round. Their emphatic 8-3 victory over the NH Whalers not only secured their spot in the quarterfinals but also earned them the fifth seed and a rematch with BHC White. Atlantic Coast Elite Black avenged their earlier defeat by beating BHC White 4-2, followed by a 5-2 semifinal victory over TSH Selects, earning them a spot in the final. In the championship game, Atlantic Coast Elite Black maintained their momentum, defeating the undefeated Team Real Speed 4-1 to claim the title.


15U Divisions

15U Supertacks Division

Champion: Seney Hockey

Howie’s Hockey MVP: Myles Dunn, #86

Seney Hockey secured a spot in the final with a flawless 4-0-0 record after a commanding six-goal shutout victory over the South Shore Stars in the semifinals. Their opponents, Hockey Development 360, narrowly escaped their semifinal round, needing overtime to defeat Advocate Athlete. Both teams entered the final undefeated, but only Seney Hockey emerged unscathed, clinching the championship title with a decisive 5-2 victory.

15U Jetspeed Division

Champion: Rochester Rage 

Howie’s Hockey MVP: Trent Chamberlin, #92

A 4-1 semifinal victory for the Rochester Rage not only preserved their perfect 4-0-0 record but also propelled them to the final round, where they faced the formidable Chazy Selects. The second-seeded Chazy Selects, known for their resilience and tenacity, played the Rage tight in an intense battle. However, Rochester’s determination and skill prevailed as they held on for a 3-1 win. This hard-fought victory not only earned them the championship banner but also cemented their status as the dominant force in the tournament.


16U Division

Champion: Advocate Athlete

Howie’s Hockey MVP: John Gato, #31

After a narrow victory in a one-goal game against the Boston Jr. Terriers in the quarterfinals, the top-seeded Advocate Athlete displayed a dominant performance in the semifinals to advance to the final. With the championship title and their perfect record on the line, they faced the undefeated Snipers (4-0-1). In a thrilling contest, both teams showcased their skills, but Advocate Athlete emerged victorious with a 3-1 win, securing the championship and maintaining their unblemished record.


What an exhilarating weekend we had at the CCM Summer Invite! We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who made this event an unforgettable experience, from the dedicated players and supportive parents to our invaluable partners and hardworking staff. The conclusion of the CCM Summer Invite marks the end of the summer tournament season. While many of our 2024-24 fall/winter events are nearing capacity, there is still space available in select divisions at many of our upcoming tournaments.
