Unwrapping the Excitement of the First Shoulder Check 14U Showcase

This past weekend was bigger than a championship banner, it was about spreading the Shoulder Check message and paying tribute to Hayden Thorsen by encouraging young people to support their peers through simple, yet powerful actions. The Shoulder Check Showcase brought together over 30 professional players, celebrity creators, and special guests in an incredible night to help spread that message. Following the showcase, sixteen 14U teams, 8 boys and 8 girls, joined us to make history at the first ever Shoulder Check 14U Showcase, to which we want to share a heartfelt thank you to the passionate players, dedicated coaches, and the families who made this weekend truly unforgettable. Over the span of 38 games, the competition was fierce, and the fun was limitless. Results

14U Boys Division

Champion: Myhro White

Howie’s Hockey MVP: Cam Daigle

After sweeping through pool play with a perfect 3-0-0 record, Myhro White proceeded to assert their dominance shutting out the CCM Selects in the quarter-final and the Atlantic Coast HC in the semi-final. These back-to-back shutouts secured their spot in the final versus the Long Island Avengers. The Avengers narrowly edged out the RSG Selects in their semi-final match to secure their rematch with Myhro White in the final. Their first match ended in a shutout victory for Myhro White, however the Avengers would break the shutout streak. In the end Myhro White overpowered the Avengers by the final score of 4-1 to take the title. 

14U Girls Division

Champion: CJR

Howie’s Hockey MVP: Olivia Delise

There were only two unbeaten teams entering the quarter-final, CJR and the Bolts. Both put on dominating performances to advance to the semi-final round where they would encounter a greater challenge. CJR was able to narrowly defeat the AV Hockey Club 2-1 and the Bolts topped the CT Polar Bears 3-1. Now with both teams on a collision course, the final would leave only one undisputed champion remaining. With a stellar netminding performance from Olivia Delise, CJR was able to defeat the Bolts 2-0 to earn their sixth win of the weekend and claim their banner and throne as champions.

As the inaugural Shoulder Check 14U Showcase concludes, we move on to the CCM Summer Invite. It is important to note, the conclusion of Shoulder Check 14U Showcase does not end the message of Shoulder Check and the HT40 Foundation. Reach Out, Check In, Make Contact.
